Practical Tips for Construction Machinery Hydraulic Parts
What is a Hydraulic Directional Control Valve?
A directional control valve is like the “brain” of a hydraulic system. It starts, stops, and changes the direction of hydraulic oil flow. These valves are also called “reversing valves.”
By controlling the oil flow, the valve tells the system how to move. It makes cylinders extend and retract, and it makes motors turn.
These valves are defined by three main things:
• Ways / Ports: How many oil paths or openings the valve has.
• Positions: How many working states the valve can switch between.
• Control Type: Manual, solenoid, or pilot control.
